Many of our online databases include book reviews. To find reviews you need the title of the book and the approximate year of publication. For reviews in magazines and journals, try searching online databases such as:
Academic Search Premier
JSTOR, a scholarly journal archive, is a good index for reviews of older titles
Enter the book title in quotation marks (if you're sure of the title) and select a date range that includes the date of publication.
You might also try searching subject-specific databases for harder to find reviews.
For reviews in newspapers such as the New York Times search LexisNexis Academic. To find reviews of older books (published prior to about 1985) use printed indexes such as Book Review Index and Book Review Digest. These indexes are located at the end of the Reference Collection on the main floor.
